Story – Legends of
the Vampire
Feared by most, loved
by some. Discover the origins of the Vampire.
"Thousands of years
ago, the mighty Bartbarod kingdom thrived near what is known today as
Macedonia. The royal family held a strict bond with each other, maintaining a
pure bloodline for centuries, until a genetic mutation nearly wiped them out in
1000 BC. The few who survived the mutation lived in hiding and continued to
pass on their blood, breeding a race that would come to be known as vampires.
Around 200 BC, this
tribe of mutants was discovered by other humans deep within in the Crelle
Forest. They possessed inexplicable powers and were initially feared by
"normal" humans. Their existence was tolerated, but only reluctantly
so. Fear and mistrust grew between the two peoples.
As time passed,
members of both tribes forgot their fears and a new race of half-breeds were
born. Their population grew quickly, causing the pure-blooded vampires to grow
wary. The ruler of the Vampires at this time, Lord Vlad, decided he had had
enough. He would once and for all eliminate the impurities that threatened the
existence of his people and declared war against humans and half-breeds alike.
After the Black Plague
had swept through Europe in 14th century, the great witch Philistia assembled
the Hermetic Association of the Golden Seal, a unification of small rebel
groups to fight against Lord Vlad's vampire army. All records tell that her
rebels were successful and stories of Vlad faded into legend..."
Characters (with their
story):
Frantz: “Unable to resist the temptation, he bit
just one person. Instead of letting the blood complete his transformation,
Frantz used the blood and the force of his own will to halt the process. He now
exists as a creature trapped in limbo between human and monstrosity. As a
side-effect of his condition, he suffers from chronic anemia and insomnia,
giving him an ashen appearance and a sullen, sarcastic disposition.”
Angela: “Now, in these dark times, a young witch
apprentice named Angela has been sent to Bramunez to aid in the siege on Curtis
Castle. To gain the power she would need to survive the coming conflict, Angela
fused her soul with that of Graestra, an ancient blade possessed by an evil
spirit. This turned her hair red and spiky, as well as granting her the sorceress
abilities of a witch many times her age.
Angela is foul-mouthed
and tough, but a bit naïve, having been raised in a small village in the forest
her entire life. Still, no one can match her powerful spells.”
Tude: “Before long, Tude discovered that the wolf's
bite and its tooth were having an effect on his body. His arm turned into a
wicked claw that he keeps hidden within a bulky gauntlet. He was traveling from
town to town to avoid arousing suspicion when he stumbled into Bramunez on a
whim. In a serious case of wrong place at the wrong time, Tude was sealed
within Curtis Castle when the Golden Seal team erected the barriers to trap
Vlad inside.
He joins up with
Frantz and Angela once they enter the main levels of Curtis Castle (although
you may play as Tude from the beginning of the adventure).”
Meilin: “She may seem shy around the townsfolk, but
once she gets into Curtis Castle her fists and feet speak volumes. Her
lightning fast techniques and powerful mystic arm will ensure that Vlad’s
minions learn to fear the name Meilin Chen.”
Natasha: While they
claim to be skillful monster hunters, these sly sisters are actually master
con-artists. They make deals with wimpy monsters to stage fake attacks, ride in
to save the day and collect a fat reward.
But their reason for
coming to Bramunez to fight against Vlad is no con. Death killed her sister,
and they won’t rest until they take him down. This young lady is on a mission
and the minions of Vlad will soon know her real nickname should be
"Dead-Eye." “
Roselle: “As a recent refugee, Roselle and her sister
Leila arrived in Bramunez in mysterious fashion. Skilled with a sword and
deadly with an axe, Roselle has proved triumphant in not only defending
herself, but also training and protecting her sister. The two are elusive and
clever; always avoiding daylight and lurking in the shadows. Rumors have
surfaced that vampiress blood pumps through the veins of both Roselle and
Leila, but it remains a secret only known by them.”
Edgar: “After fusing with the demon blade, Crudelitias,
he was cursed with the body of a child. Although he is a bit clumsy in his new
body, his magical ability makes him a serious threat to Vlad’s hordes. His
reasons for enlisting are unknown, but his powers are so similar to Angela’s
that he may have crossed paths with her master, Rebecca.”
Leila: “She hardly needs protection as she exhibits
the same supernatural strength and affinity for dark magic as her sister
Roselle. Leila is a gregarious and polite young lady whom the townsfolk have
welcomed with open arms. If it wasn’t for her aversion to sunlight and her
ability to go head to head with Vlad’s forces, she would fit right in with the
older children of Bramunez.”

Focusing on your Weaponry
As characters progress through their tale they will select
up or buy new weapons along the way. As they level, weapons will keep getting
more efficient and faster.
Each character gets to a point where they need to select
what weapon they want to specialize in. Currently there are two focuses
available for every character classification, each providing unique hits and
advantages. While some are specialized in crowd control with low attack damage,
others may concentrate on efficiency with huge impact. Whatever the focus is,
it’s essential to select prudently. Once a Focus is chosen it will be managed
for the life of that character.
